J.W. Jr. & Co.
Contract Great Coat

We at Morris & Co. Historical Clothiers are proud to announce our original "James Wilde Junior & Company Contract Great Coat".   The coat has been copied from a sample in the collection of the William McKinley Memorial & Stark County Historical Society,  Canton, Ohio.

The coat is in the collection of the museum & in fairly good condition and is 85% complete.  We have worked to examine this garment very closely and to pattern the jacket as closely to the original.    The jacket features a machine sewn construction with some hand sewn details.  In addition, the jacket features an example of a "Field Modificaion" of slash pockets underneath the cape.

Our Coats will feature these details:
1. Key Hole Hand Sewn Button Holes.
2. Red Wool Lining.
3. Belt Reinforcements.
4. Hand made slash pocket hand warmers.
5. Lined sleeves in a drill.
6. J. W. Jr. & Co.  Contract Marks.
7. 22 oz. Sky Blue Kersey  with diagonal warp.
8. Burlap interfacing

Please take the time to view our photos of the original and reproduction garment.
